A young society that had to look and work the part

The Sabah Interior Designers Society is a non-profit that connects interior designers and industry suppliers across Sabah. It was founded in 2020, so it was still young when we built its site, and like a lot of new professional bodies it needed two things at the same time: a presence that looked as professional as its members expected, and a way to actually sign those members up without it turning into a pile of emails and spreadsheets.

More than a brochure

It would have been easy to build SAIDS a good-looking brochure site and stop there. But a society lives or dies on its membership, so the membership had to genuinely work. We built a real application flow, not just a page listing what the tiers cost.

What we built

A clean, mobile-friendly site for the society, with a working membership application at the centre of it:

  • Three membership tiers presented clearly, professional, student and associate business, each with its own benefits and price
  • A proper application form that collects the applicant details, lets them upload their proof of payment, and confirms by email, instead of being collected and tracked by hand
  • Member accounts with sign-up, email verification and a dashboard, so the society can grow into managing members online
  • An events section with its own pages for talks and showcases, so the society can promote what it runs
  • An about section carrying the mission, the history and the committee, and a contact form that lands in the right inbox

Design that respects the audience

These are interior designers. They notice design, and a generic template would have quietly told them this society was not quite serious. The site carries its own brand and colour system, reads cleanly on a phone, and looks like something a design-conscious membership is happy to be associated with.

Where it stands now

SAIDS has a website that does real work. People can read what the society stands for, see what it is running, and apply to join in a few minutes with their payment proof attached, without anyone on the committee chasing a form by hand. A young society now presents itself, and runs its membership, like an established one.

Project outcome

Delivered a professional digital presence for Sabah's interior design community. The website showcases membership tiers, the society's mission, and member information in a design-conscious, mobile-responsive layout that reflects the association's standards.
